Protect your Computer System information

We hear a lots and lots of concerning cases of hacking, softwares, malwares, viruses, etc, Here are some Computer Security tips to safeguard your PC/laptop against hacker intrusions, malware and different viruses that exploits your PC or Laptops.

6 Computer Security Tips

1) Use a firewall

A firewall is a software system that will handle outgoing and incoming Internet connections of your computer. You’ll be able to clearly use the one engineered into Windows by default, however this can be by no means the foremost Efficient. i will like to recommend Comodo Firewall which is free and straightforward to use. Using Firewall is just one of Computer Security tip that i want to mention.

2) Use antivirus

There are obvious reasons to use Anti virus Programs, but there are People that don’t have any antivirus or those who have, they have not upgraded thier antivirus since their permit has lapsed.. However there are quite powerful free antivirus Available. One must Install Antivirus to Protect and Keep thier Computer Secure.

3) Updating software system:

New vulnerabilities are found in software system or operative systems like Windows each day. So one must always updates thier software system. Keeping your installed Softwares upto date is Important, as it will Keep hackers away from breaking into your System and its Said that any upto date program Works smooth without any glitch.

4) Use complicated passwords

Users like you and me use too weak  passwords that are very simple to detect for hackers, there are so many software which will try all Possible Combinations to Crack your Password, this is known as Bruteforce technique .  If your secret word(password) Consists of just 4 or 5 characters, it will easily discover it.
Your Password becomes harder to crack if it consists of 8 or 9 characters which also includes numbers, letters and special characters. To check the strength of your Password, there are plenty tools over internet. This is an important Computer Security tip that everyone must Consider.

5) Use totally different passwords

Most common mistake people make is that they use same password everywhere over internet. Yes, its very hard to remember passwords for all accounts but its highly advisible to have different passwords for different accounts.

This Practice Comes handy if one of your account gets Compromised/Hacked, then your other accounts are still safe.

6) Always Beware:

  • Finally, Abstain from getting hacked,  Always beware while Browsing Internet, don’t transfer and install everything and anything on your PC or Laptop.
  • Always check the sources of software system and websites that you just use to download programs.
  • Don’t be silly and amateur hackers won’t be able to do  anything to you (while serious and skilled hackers will not have any interest to hack you)

Create Bootable USB Drives to Install (Almost) Any OS

With the advent of ultra portable laptops, optical drives are becoming a thing of the past. Although not having optical drives allows manufacturers to make lighter devices, it causes problems to users when they want to fresh install operating systems, as most of them are still available in the form of CDs, DVDs and downloadable ISOs. For users of these devices, the only option then remains is to use a flash drive to install the operating system of their choice.
Not surprisingly, there are also a few of us who prefer installing operating systems from flash drives for its faster speeds. There are also a few of us who prefer to keep live operating systems on our flash drives to access computers without having an OS by simply plugging in our devices.

Bootable USB drives from ISO

With such a lot of users needing to create bootable USB flash drives, it appears imperative that OS manufacturers provide an inbuilt way to create them with each DVD and CD they provide. However, that is not the case with all operating system manufacturers.

In fact, most of the users are left hunting for third party applications that can create a bootable USB drive for their specific operating system. To add to a user's misery, the OS manufacturers that do provide an application for this make them OS specific (like the Windows 7 USB/DVD tool) and do not support ISOs and DVDs of other OSs. Some of them fail to work even if the original ISO/DVD is slightly modified (slipstreamed etc.).

Use Rufus to create bootable USB media

If you too are one such user looking for a solution, you can stop looking and try Rufus, an open source tool to create a bootable USB drive from any bootable ISO.

Rufus is small in size (nearly 615 KB) and claims to be faster at creating bootable USB drives than most applications of its type. Rufus is also portable which means that you need not install this software to use it. Just double click on the executable file and the application will start working. Rufus also allows you to add fixes to use your bootable flash drives on older computers having BIOSs which do not support booting from them.

Strangely however, Rufus can only create bootable flash drives from ISOs meaning you need to have an ISO image of the CD or DVD of the OS of your choice.

I do not think this should be too much of a problem considering how easy it is to create ISOs from DVDs and CDs.

How to use Rufus?

1) When you start Rufus, the first option that you will see is Device:. It contains all your connected USB drives. If you plug in a USB drive after starting Rufus, the drive you have connected will shortly be available here.

2) You will not need to modify the Partition Scheme and target system type, as the default choice is suitable for making the USB drive work on both UEFI and legacy BIOS computers.

3) Change the file system from FAT32 to NTFS from the dropdown menu. This is the file system with which your USB drive will be formatted with. Do note that older computers will not boot from a flash drive formatted as NTFS. Do not modify the cluster size. Enter the name you want for your USB device in the Volume label box.

4) Check the Create a bootable disk using checkbox if it is not already checked. In the dropdown menu next to it, select ISO image. Click on the button right to it to locate your ISO image.

Do note that Rufus will format your USB drive deleting everything on it before making it bootable. So, make sure that it does not contain any important data.

5) Click on Start to format your USB drive and extract all files of the ISO to it.

To install the OS, restart your computer and select your USB device as the primary boot option in the BIOS boot menu.

Rufus works on all the latest versions of Windows and can be used to extract the following ISOs to a bootable USB drive:-

Rufus Software : Download

If you face any problem, you can write about it in the comments.

Format Pendrive Using Command

Formatting is a valuable and essential tool when dealing with any type of storage disk and can help to solve a lot of errors and headaches. But what do you do if your USB flash drive needs to be formatted but, every time you try through the property menus it comes up with an error, or won’t even recognise the drive properly at all. Don’t despair because here is something you can do.

Format pendrive using cmd  is a common process that may need to be undertaken quite frequently, but unless you have gone through this procedure before it can be a mine field. The last thing you want is to finish the process and end up with an unusable pendrive . Here is a quick step by step guide to Format pendrive using cmd

Steps To Format Pendrive Using Command

This guide formats your flash drive as FAT32, to format as NTFS simply substitute the term in the command box. FAT32 is the recommended formatting style by this guide but many do prefer NTFS. Follow the Below steps to Format an unformatable Pendrive.

Step 1. Turn on computer as normal

Step 2. Once you are in your desktop insert Pendrive into USB port Please note: if you know the letters associated with your disk locations or can use a utility such as disk part to list this information then skip steps 3 and 4

Step 3. Go into my computer (accessible from the start menu or desktop) and look down the navigation panel on the left hand side, this lists down to the popular and root menu folders and locations on your computer.

Step 4. Your Pendrive should be listed in one of these locations, it may be referred to by brand, as portable storage or something similar. Next to this label will be a letter,
for example “H: removable storage device ” if the device does not show up you may need to test the port to find the letter with another USB device. This letter needs to be written down or remembered in order to complete this process.

Step 5. Go to the windows start menu, click start or the Windows symbol depending on your edition of Windows, then click run.

Step 6. Type cmd into the run dialog box and click OK, this is to start the command prompt window from which you will be able to choose your format style and name your drive.

Step 7. Then the command prompt window is opened and you will need to type ” Format H: ”

if you want to Format it as FAT32  then type ” Format H: /FS: FAT32 ”

Step 8. The G in this instance refers to our example Pendrive location, instead you would enter the letter that you remembered or wrote down from the my computer side panel
After you have typed the above command press enter.

Step 9. Here, you will be asked to press enter again and then to give a name for your drive. Follow these prompts then click on enter again.
You have completed the process of Formating pendrive using cmd; go back into my computer to check that the formatting has been completed successfully.

How to Enable Copy Paste In Command

By Default Windows do not allow users to Copy text and Paste it in Command prompt Or Copy text from Command prompt and paste it elsewhere. But there is an option in CMD itself to enable Copy & Paste Text in Windows Command Prompt.

Today in this tutorial we will learn how to Enable Copying and Pasting Texts in Windows Command prompt. One of the main advantage of this will be that you can copy any command that you find on the internet or from any word/excel file and paste it directly in CMD and execute that command just like that.
How to Enable Copy Paste in CMD

Step 1: Open CMD, Just type CMD in search or Press Win + X key to select Command Prompt.

Step 2: Right Click on the Title of the CMD window and Select Properties just like its shown in the below Picture

Step 3: You will see a Pop up Window coming up, Now on the Right hand side, Under Edit Options, Just Check Quick Edit Mode and click OK

Step 4: Everything is Done, Now just Copy any Text from Here or Anywhere else Using CTRL + C keys and just Right click using your mouse on CMD. You will see that the text is been pasted automatically in CMD. Please Understand that Using CTRL + C to Copy text is Important.

Likewise if you wish to Copy Text from CMD to paste elsewhere then Just Select the Text in CMD and Again just Right Click with the mouse. Your Text is Copied and ready to Paste it in any Document you want.

This Doesn’t Limit you to just Text you can even copy File or Folder path and paste it in CMD. Everything that you have to type manually can be copied from somewhere and pasted directly to CMD with this small Tweak

So this was just a small Tip I wanted to Share with my Readers so that you don’t have to Type any long Command in CMD which if typed incorrectly can cause errors. I hope this will help some Of you.

How to Change Maximum Number of Posts in Blogger Label Page

Blogger has set a default maximum 20 blog posts in its label page (category page). This may or may not suit your preference or your purpose in setting up the label page. You may want to decrease it to increase download time. Alternatively, you may want to increase the maximum number of posts to show all posts with the same label (category).

If you want to change this default maximum number of post, you will have to edit the template. First, backup your blog template (Dashboard > Template > Backup (at the top right corner) > Download full template > All files)

Now you got to open the template editor (Dashboard > Template > Edit HTML). Tick [ ] Expand Widget Templates

Now use ctrl+F to help you find the following codes:

Replace the above with the following (I used the number 150 because I want all posts to be displayed in the label page. You may use other numbers in place of 150):

expr:href='data:label.url + "?max-results=150"'

Repeat this for all instances of expr:href='data:label.url' that you can find. I think for the Simple template, there will be 3 instances, so the above will have to be repeated 3 times.

When done, save template and exit.

How to Make All Links Open in New Windows

This request to make all hyperlinks pops up every now and then so might as well make a post for it. To make all links open in new window is amazingly simple. Just sign into
to open template editor

Use keyboard shortcut ctrl+F to find <head> and immediately after that, add a single line <base target='_blank' /> so that it become

<base target='_blank' />

Save the edited template and viola, all links in your blog will now open in new tabs or windows.

Note 1: Blogger is now XHTML so all tags must have matching closing tags or be self closing. The above tag is self closing because it has that forward slash / at the end of the tag.
Note 2: This will cause all links including links to your own website to open in new windows. If you don't want this, then don't use this method.

Update: A commentator asked for all links to opens in a new window/tab, but then when other links are clicked, rather than opening another separate new window/tab, it replaces the one that was previously opened. So they can stay on my page while new links all appear in the same new window, not multiple new tabs/windows. This can be easily done by using <base target="_new"> instead so that it becomes
<base target='_new' />

Note 3: Just wondering if adding a note for frequent visitors to set browser to open in new tabs rather than new windows will reduce the number of visitors having an unmanageable numbers of new windows opened. Do leave your opinions in the comments below:
Note 4: Some bloggers may prefer some links not to open in new window/tab but to open in the same window, Nute gave this tip to add the attribute target="_self" for those links you want to open in the same window/tab.
